Homestead Garden<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Featuring a diverse spectrum of produce that can be grown throughout the year in central Texas, the Homestead Garden area exists to inspire and help instruct those who are \u00a0interested in learning about sustainable and organic gardening methods. Livestock<\/h2>\n

The livestock area, located acrpss from the Herb Garden, contains several different heritage breeds of poultry. This area is under development as we seek to expand and improve what is available there. Native Landscaping<\/h2>\n

Herb Garden<\/h2>\n

Aquaponics Greenhouse<\/h2>\n

Aquaponics is a creative, exciting and effective way to extend the growing season as well as increase the number of different plants that can be grown. The spacious 30’x88′ greenhouse located next to the Homestead Garden provides \u00a0a \u00a0close up look at the workings \u00a0and details of a functioning aquaponics system. \u00a0Visitors can see the Pacu fish in their tank, read the informative signs that answer many common questions, view the diagrams that explain the flow of water throughout the system, and walk among the beds of plants that are being nourished by the water circulating from the fish tank.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”681″ img_size=”500×500″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
